I checked the ET on the 997 front wheels which were ET57, i think the ones at on my car at the moment are ET50 or ET52.

I almost bought a pair of 2nd hand 18" Carrera 997 alloys from my local dealer this morning untill the guy checked with someone within Porsche who then told him you cant put 997 wheels onto a 996, but gave no explanation !

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, can anyone tell me what size of wheels i can or cant put on my 996 Carrera 2. I almost bought a pair of 2nd hand 18" Carrera 997 alloys from my local dealer this morning untill the guy checked with someone within Porsche who then told him you cant put 997 wheels onto a 996, but gave no explanation ! (is this just to try and make me buy proper new 996 wheels?) I checked the ET on the 997 front wheels which were ET57, i think the ones at on my car at the moment are ET50 or ET52. Can anyone tell me if these 997 alloys are ok to put on my car, or is there a genuine reason why i shouldnt buy them ? Hope that makes sense..... Thanx.
