I have checked the fade/balance on the actual PCM1 unit, and also disconnected/bypassed the amp with another sound source and all speakers themselves are working correctly, so suspect the PCM or the amplifier is faulty, and since the amp is cheaper, was thinking about sending it away for a diagnostic/repair/replacemtn to see if it cures the issue.

I really can't recommend enough Tore Bergvill, speak to him, if he does Bose and you are both confident the Amp is the issue.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Back to square one for me I may chance my arm with the other uk lot they are based in byfleet so not far from me but having no reviews on google is a worry and not capping their repair price is also a concern

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

As per title, anybody had any dealings with these guys?

I suspect my amplifier is at fault (M680 option) as it doesn't seem to be sending sound properly to all of the speakers.
It would however be ideal if someone local also had the same amp (DSP Digital Sound Processing) (M680 option) Part Number 996.645.322.01, which I could simply plug and play within 2 minutes to check that the amp is indeed at fault.
Willing to travel (a little) to do this...
Given that the option you have is a breakers yard part or having yours fixed, I'd say the simplest solution is to phone those guys at PCM Repairs and agree a way forward. This is the first I have seen anybody claiming repairs on PCM. So there isn't a huge choice of repairers. After that, its trekking round breakers yard/eBay fir a replacement.
I called these last week for a quote to repair a non working pcm, very rude! they didnt want to give me any idea of cost to repair just a £72 diagnostic refunded if you get it repaired by them at what ever cost that might be? Plus £50 return postage, found someone else now, ill update when its diagnosed for free.
Old thread but what was the outcome anyone used these guys? Prices have gone up a bit and they are still vague on total cost to fix just looking for confidence they are good
Winny, I looked to get my Amp fixed in the UK. The places I rang wanted money to inspect it let alone fix it. Was literally cheaper to send it to Norway.
I really can't recommend enough Tore Bergvill, speak to him, if he does Bose and you are both confident the Amp is the issue. He is the way forward.
Thanks I have sent them an email as my amp (Becker as I now know having removed it) is not listed on the site but prices are certainly very good for the Bose
Winny
I'd say he'd almost certainly deal with it. He told me before what the issue would most likely be and how much it would cost to fix it. There was no uncertainty, no fee to inspect it. Had it back in a week, job a goodun with 5 year warranty. I'm not the only one on here to speak highly of the chap either.
Yeah it was a top notch experience. Those I spoke to in the UK left a bad taste in my mouth. Wonder if it was the same people as in this thread?! :?:
P.s. it's not they, it's him, pretty sure he's a one man band.
Oh and be wary to follow his instructions on postage in order to minimise on fees and chances of fees. Although I'd imagine things may have got worse in that respect. That said, they're not in the EU either so perhaps status quo since I sent mine.
Well I got a very fast response from BergvillFX unfortunately he does not do that model and could not suggest anyone else.
Very good English and understanding of the problem though
Back to square one for me I may chance my arm with the other uk lot they are based in byfleet so not far from me but having no reviews on google is a worry and not capping their repair price is also a concern
Maybe I just cut my losses and go aftermarket although I did want a PCCM+ eventually and that needs the amp working
