Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suspected cause

Having taken the seats in/out of the car a whole bunch of times in the past year, yes - installing custom spacers is likely the solution.

Leading evidence: 'solution' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'solution' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have a comfort challenge with the standard seats. I like to sit with the entire seat tilted back somewhat (including the seat bottom) - see Position 2, below. With standard seats this is not possible - see position 1. So, Position 1 is what the seat can do, Position 2 is what my back/legs need to get comfy in the car. The seat itself otherwise is very comfortable, except for this. Are there any options to modify how the stock seat is mounted so this is achievable? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

I suspect you could add some spacers under the front bolts for the seat runners. That should help tip it back. No ideas on the issues this might cause, at one point I looked into raising my seat (for another reason) - but I seem to recall the front mounts are bolted in at an angle (would have to go check in the garage.. too lazy at 11PM..) perhaps a metal extension of some sort might work.

POST 3Original post

It is my hope that some spacers would solve the issue!!!

POST 4Original post

Having taken the seats in/out of the car a whole bunch of times in the past year, yes - installing custom spacers is likely the solution. However, I suspect that may get hung up with the front angle if you're building more than a half-inch of height. These are E12 bolts (external Torx) from what I remember...and yes -- they go in at an angle at the front so be mindful of that. Also, note the bolt length when you do your install; I'm wondering if you might want to determine the bolt pitch and source ones with longer lengths. I doubt that you'd raise the front enough to make that much of a difference with the stock bolts. Definitely do some try runs and ensure it's safe -- those bolts are there for a reason.

POST 5Original post

100% do NOT want to compromise any safety. Finding a properly spec'ed longer bold should be easy... Now, any sensible person would just change out seats for the 12-way sports or something, but somehow, in a miraculous stroke of luck, the originating purchase decided to get crested seats.
