Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I've got a 2006 Cayman S and noticed power steering fluid leaking at the rack. I'm pretty sure I'll need to replace the pressure line and gasket (p/n 997 347 451 03, 999-230-543-40). Anyone have experience with this or can confirm the parts I'll need for the job? Just wanted to be sure before ordering the parts. Thanks! (The picture was taken from the driver side front wheel well)

POST 2Original post

As shown there are two o rings on the high pressure line and one o ring on the return line. The bolt holds both fittings to the rack through a clamping plate. Hopefully you are just replacing the o rings to see if that cures your problem. Here is a link to my electric power steering article where I had to mess with the lines at the rack. Good luck.

POST 5Original post

Unfortunately I don't know as I didn't do the work myself. What I can tell you is that even after replacing the lines, I still had overheating and leaking issues. I finally switched to an electric PS pump and haven't had any issues since. Wish I had done that mod from the get go.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
