Can anyone recommend a tried and tested service for refurbishing keys?
I’d like both done, to not only refresh the functionality and batteries, but also the casing.

Batteries and casing are an easy and cheap DIY job - look on eBay for both.
Replacing the PCB inside the key is expensive and Porsche only, as far as I can tell.
You can buy the complete key from eBay which has a blank blade. Take it apart and put in your original blade and circuit board from your old key. Or there are sellers on there who will do it for you.
Yeah the DIY route is a doddle, I've even resoldered new buttons on the circuit board but that is a bit tricky.
This guy is getting loads of good reviews on the 996 groups on FB. He bookes you in for when he's in your part of the country and comes to you.
