Still if it gets any worse over the winter it doesn't matter as they are going to have to cut out the area and weld in a repair panel anyway.

I need to get the problem sorted, a repair panel welded in if that's the answer and the panel repainted; it needs to be a 100% professional repair so it can be sealed and I can forget about it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm wondering whether anyone can recommend a bodyshop in Cornwall or Devon who you would trust your Porsche with? I bought my C4S back in August and I am generally delighted with it, but there is one issue that is ruining the experience! The car appeared perfect when I bought it and I was aware, as the dealer disclosed, that it had had some paint on the front bumper and both sides of the car, but it looked amazing and I wasn't worried by that. Barely a month later and some bubbling erupted on the NSR arch! The dealer wouldn't touch it as their warranty didn't cover paint repairs, which was disappointing but in fairness they did put right the other niggles I had with the car with no argument. I took the car to a local bodyshop who look after our work vehicles and they offered to put it right and repaint the whole panel, I picked it up and again it looked perfect but the very next day two blisters came up again  They said they would take it back, cut out the area, weld in a repair and sort it but I've tried to book it back in several times and there's always some delay. I appreciate they are busy but frankly I've lost faith in them. The car was booked in next week for a correction and two year ceramic coating, wheel polish and seal and headlight polish and seal at a local detailer but I've now missed my slot as I'm certainly not doing that until the paint is perfect. This guy is really good and the next available appointment isn't until February!! I need to get the problem sorted, a repair panel welded in if that's the answer and the panel repainted; it needs to be a 100% professional repair so it can be sealed and I can forget about it. Any recommendations please?

Hi, My father is having his Audi Quattro restored by http://ianwebbspecialistcars.com/ Work seems really good. He often has Porsche guys working there who have prev worked at Crawford's which is next door.

POST 3Original post

I was recommended and quoted by colourworx in Newquay. I haven't used them yet but had a long chat with the owner about the issue and he had a close look at it and came across really good

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, I'll give them a call :thumb:

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, I live in Newquay so I'll drop in and see them :thumb:

POST 6Original post

You could always phone OPC Exeter and ask them?

POST 7Original post

Let me know how you get on. I will be looking to get mine done soon. What detailer do you have booked? I was looking at Cornwall Detailing who seem really good.

POST 8Original post

K J Rule in Nanpean between summer court and st Austell Body shop magazine small body shop of the year twice, runners up twice Mercedes and VAG approved And I ve used them for 20 years Even the technicians at Porsche Exeter take their own cars there I have a detailed that's available most weekends Give me a call and I'll pass on his contact details A very hard worker, but not a business man, incredible value for money

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, I will let you know. I was booked at Cornwall Car Care at St Columb Major. The guy does an amazing job but he's booked so far in advance. he's got an insta account if you want to check them out.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's good of you, thanks. I'll talk to the body shop and then come back to you for the detailers number; appreciate the steer.

POST 11Original post

Another recommendation for Nick at colourworx. He is in to his Porsches and does some nice work.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Stopped in to see Nick at Colourworx, Newquay yesterday evening. He took time to properly check out the car, discussed the whole process required and I feel confident after looking at some of the other work going on there and how presentable the workshop is that these guys will do a good job. He'll also take progress photos for me to show exactly what was done. I've booked it in, but like everyone it seems they are extremely busy. First available slot is February. Still if it gets any worse over the winter it doesn't matter as they are going to have to cut out the area and weld in a repair panel anyway. The price seemed sensible for the work that is needed, so I'm happy. Thanks for the recommendation guys.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I thought I ought to update this thread as the body repair has been completed! I opted to use Colourworx in Newquay and I'd thoroughly recommend them. The tiny blister was the tip of the iceberg, with a nasty bit of corrosion underneath. It just goes to show that beauty is only skin deep! The pictures below were sent to me by Nick as the works were undertaken, he's more than happy to send progress shots if you want them. I also had the headlights polished and clear coated whilst it was there and that alone took years off the appearance of the car. I'm delighted with the results, top class service and he stuck to his original quote despite having to paint more than he originally thought.

POST 15Original post

Good to see it now being done properly and your C4S looks stunning  Had a far worse experience with https://autobodytechnic.com/ who did my turbo first time round (twice) and the panels were still out of shape after their repairs utilising copious amounts of completely unnecessary filler if repairing professionally. Paint started reacting, crazy paving and sinking! Porsche GBs resto team had to remove all this filler and more. Shocking
