We fitted Eibach springs to the rear of my mates on to Koni active dampers and the spring had a tiny bit of preloaded, just enough that they weren't loose.

I haven’t got it back on its wheels yet, but one of my reasons for changing springs is that the car has a reverse rake, which isn’t cool lol

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, fitting Eibach springs at the weekend and the rear springs have no preload, in fact they are loose, probably not enough to jump out at full drop, but almost. Has anyone else came across this issue?

POST 2Original post

I didn’t have that problem when I fitted to my M030 shocks on my C2 although the car was too low at the rear and I needed to have 17mm perch spacers made to get the ride height I required.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I imagine the M030 dampers would be shorter than my standard ones, possibly the springs were designed with those in mind. I haven’t got it back on its wheels yet, but one of my reasons for changing springs is that the car has a reverse rake, which isn’t cool lol

POST 4Original post

We fitted Eibach springs to the rear of my mates on to Koni active dampers and the spring had a tiny bit of preloaded, just enough that they weren't loose. With the eibachs the car was very low especially at the front, he changed them for vogtland springs and now it sits like a gt3. Think you can get different thickness rubber springs seats which may be why my mates were not loose?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I seen there is 2 spring 'compensators' one is 0.5 and one is 4 mm, not sure if 3.5mm is enough. Sounds like they may be too low anyway, will it onto its wheels and go from there. Good thing is that it would be quite easy to make rear spring spacers if needs be.

POST 6Original post

Yes it's easy to make a spacer for the rear. It'll be interesting to see if you find the front too low like my mate did, that was the reason he changed to vogtland springs as we couldn't think of a way to space the front up!

that's what the helper springs are there to help with noting they have zero impact on the final spring rate

Yes, I am interested to see myself, will report back. Yes that's true, but when you buy a spring kit you shouldn't have to buy helper springs to make them fit properly.

POST 9Original post

Are they new springs? Definitely the correct part number for your car, ie manual, rwd, coupe etc. ? Any photos of them on the damper so we can see the gap?

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 2685407

Exactly if they are Porsche specific then they will be good to go straight out of the box

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just an update, the spring gap was about 10mm, however when installed and all arms tightened at ride height the spring is not loose at droop. So I am happy.

POST 12Original post

So how's it sitting height wise now they've been on for a bit?

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think I am happy with the ride height.
