The serpentine belts vary widely in price, Autodoc list quite a few manufacturers. Type911 show the Porsche part at £50+VAT and a Meyle OEM part at £14. Anyone changed theirs and got a recommendation please?

I bought and fitted a continental belt from autodoc, I heard they are one of the OEM suppliers. (side note - I was shocked how easy a job this was... )

Don't forget to check the bearings on all the idler/tensioner rollers and water pump for smooth running and no play! As I have discovered a seized idler bearing is very inconvenient especially if it happens somewhere abroad!

A siezed bearing is bad enough when you‘re on your way to work on a dark Winters morning in torrential rain. Without that belt the battery flattens quickly with lights on, the engine starts to overheat rapidly even when it’s freezing cold and the alarm goes off repeatedly as the lights dim, wipers slow & demister is load shed so you can’t see where you’re going! 10 mins drive home felt like forever!

Continental, Gates and Dayco are the OEM belt manufacturers. Meyle is likely rebranded as AFAIK they don't actually make belts.

Thanks all. Yes I replaced one bearing shortly after I got the car, I'll check the others again. Pehaps I'll do the water pump as well. Good to know about who are OEM and much cheaper than Porsche OPC.
