Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, new to the forum, on my 5th 911, my C2 2000 model has covered 86000 miles just had major service (1500 miles) and has developed a flat spot in the 3 - 6,000 rev range. Any one had similar problems or ideas Regards Richard

POST 2Original post

Welcome Richard, that is quite a long flat spot? in all gears ? are you in or out of warranty ?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi started in second gear only, now throughout all gears, out of warranty !! V woried. Regards Richard

POST 4Original post

Good Afternoon Richard.. Welcome to 911uk.. Some things that spring to mind - Coil Packs- MAF- Air leak- Is it only when your foot is pushed to the floor ? Have you called the OPC who serviced the car, they may have an idea ?

POST 5Original post

As has been said, 3-6 flat spot is very long.... flats are usually over say a 1-1.5k rev range. Is there any coughing or hesitation/jerking and when it goes off again at 6... is it totally smooth to the red? Get it to a locally indy/OPC and have them run a diagnostics check - this should highlight the prob. Could be blockage at intake... filter?? or the MAF as a suggestion... but you cant beat the proper check up IMO. Let us know what happens....

POST 6Original post

My guess is a Varicam issue. 3k is where it is supposed to kick in. And at 6k, a 996 is coming out of a natural hole in the power curve.

POST 8Original post

I had similar issue although more flat around 5000 - OPC changed MAF & Coils been OK since.. (Although OPC cost for MAF is outrageous!!)
