Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So i wanted to pull this out of yaz's motor build thread. It looks like one of the issues with our motors is the crank overhang. I am assuming that my 200k+ motor has an issue with the crank not running true. I dont have great service records but i do have receipts for a ln ims and i have found mentions of the rms being replaced in 2 different previous 4 sale ads. I am assuming several po`s have tried to seal this thing up. The motor has no issues with bore scoring and the fuel trims r great. I would really like to keep this motor happy for a few more years. I only put 2-3k a year on it.
so the product is this

i am interested in you opinions. Baz at Hertech likes the idea per yaz`s thread but i am wondering if the crank is running out of true because of the flywheel/clutch or is it actually bent. Im guessing i can check runout. I wonder if it out of true will it just burn up the support bearing? Is there someting else i am missing?
Baz also mentioned a more flexable rms seal but i wasnt sure if that was a special aftermarket seal or if it was revised porsche. Does anyone know of this?
Also i have not contacted eps for more specifics yet but plan too if the opinions here seam favorable.

I think the RMS with the 997 part number is the updated more flexible version!
It was me who quoted on the eps support bearing, was getting my crash helmet on ready for some flack, then Baz chimes in and said it didn't look like a bad idea , got a little chuff on with myself now lol!
Seriously though, it could save a lot of us a load of hassle , from the more minor issue of an annoying leak to the major things like rod failure!
