Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Have had my 996tt for a year now and have done 15,000 in it. The car has been to Bedford, 2 karting events, Le Man, all the way round the British Isles and Manchester once or ten times. It has been my daily commute and I will even admit to taking it to the dump a few times for the monthly recycling run. And of course it appeared in T911.
It has cost around £3,000 to keep on the road in terms of tyres brakes and servicing etc and I have had two warranty issues. The first being the faulty door sensor that kept opening the windows randomly and the other being the 2nd gear synchro fault.
The car is fantastic and although I have thought about replacing it I can't think of anything that will match it. Every journey has been a pleasure and I never tire of driving it or even just looking at it
I have been toying with the idea of making a few mods to the car. Firstly I was going to get it remapped and put a sports exhaust on it. However I have now decided that it is plenty fast enough and have gotten used to the more discreet noise than that made by my last PSE equipped 996. Actually if truth be known the thought that these mods may invalidate any warranty claim was one of the main reasons for keeping it stock.
I then thought about black Techart formula wheels but with these being heavier than the hollow Turbo twist I have been told that the ride and handling would be noticeably compromised. Therefore the stock wheels wll remain.

Don't know why I posted this but if you are thinking of getting a 996tt just do it. Pound for pound nothing matches it.
Congrats on your first anniversary with the TT Dave! Useful to know what running costs are for the rest of us who may be considering to be future 996TT owners. I sat in a 996TT at the OPC in Central London on Thursday - fully loaded with cream leather (first I've seen in a 996), 2004 model going for £71k. Those residuals seem pretty solid don't they? I found the clutch action to be a bit hard though. Still a hugely desirable car. Where would you go from there? Perhaps a 997TT or even a 997GT3?

A year aleady, from the unchartered territory of a year ago to now, a car and owner that have proved a perfect combo

a gentle upgrade on the geo and brakes, sound like it's going to be another good year, regards
Had mine 2 months now and think the car is awesome point to point on UK roads.
Took it out for 3 x 1hr stints at the weekend. Phenomenal.
2 of them were in the dark on very windy country roads - poise and power on b roads just truly fantastic....didn't look at the speedo though....its shocking how quick you can be going with such great ease.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
It's open season on how great the TT is then
Had mine x3 months and commute 80 miles in it daily.
Absolutely awesome car with oceans of torque - love it.
Still thinking about an exhaust and a remap but for now I've stopped at the DIY muffler bypass.
Hi all,
I've had mine for 4 months and love mine too. I've just had mine breathed on by DMS and it is unbelievable!!
The car is even more of a missile and totally transforms the car.
Now, which exhaust do I go for???
I wish Capristo would get their act together- they make phenomenal exhausts for Ferraris (esp the 355) and have now developed a switchable one for Ferrari a la PSE. They do an exhaust for Cayman/Boxster... perhaps they might respond to a bit of pressure and get a switchable Turbo one out!
