Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The suspension on my 996 Targa seems to have got much firmer at low speeds over the last 9 months or so. Its so uncomfortable around town that my wife refuses to get in it (probably not a bad thing actually !). Above 75 it smooths out perfectly and handles well. Could it be the tyres gone off a bit? They are Continentals. Or can I adjust the suspension somehow to make it just that little bit more enjoyable below 40?

POST 2Original post

I assume the tyre pressures are right? Have you noticed it's got worse, or is it just the Mrs' nagging? The 993 Targas were set up a bit softer than the coupe, don't know about the 996 which is a stiffer shell, but I'd have thought it would be a bit softer than the coupe. Has it got standard shocks etc?

POST 3Original post

I never use my Targa for around town largely owing to horrendous fuel consumption and also the ride quality is a bit harsh. Does yours have sports suspension or the PSM/PASM set up (I forget which one is which but its the one that makes the suspension firmer)? ~ Maxie

POST 4Original post

strange as it's normally the opposite, could be a fault with a damper or even a bump stop ? as for the tyres, how old are they ? as Conti's N2's are normally the best for comfort
