Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Having sent you all to a US site with the spoliers link. I notice all the cars have what I think they call bumper plugs - those bits that stick out either side of the number plate. Do they serve any purpose? What are they all about?

POST 2Original post

I'm pretty sure you'll find that bumper plugs have nothing to do with the things either side of the number plate - they are called "bumperettes". Bumper plugs are small inserts which are used to fill the holes left by the manufacturer for the front number plate to be fixed to. Many US States don't require front number plates - hence the holes. There is more information at http://www.bumperplugs.com/BPindex.html Regards Dave
