I've driven back to the petrol station, to enquiry if any one has had a problem with fuel today, they said no, and to be honest there wasn't a queue of people saying they have had a proble,, so I asked them to record the fact I've reported this, returned home, to check the manual.

Hi, I've got a 3.4 996 carrera, had the car for a few months.. trouble free motoring. I tend to use shell optimax or normal unleaded intermittently. Today the car was on a quarter tank, driving with no problems. I filled up at a sainsbury's local/shell on normal unleaded. After driving of the forecourt within a few minutes I noticed that the car was misfiring at lower revs. After about 15 minutes of driving, the engine check light has come on and stayed on. I've driven back to the petrol station, to enquiry if any one has had a problem with fuel today, they said no, and to be honest there wasn't a queue of people saying they have had a proble,, so I asked them to record the fact I've reported this, returned home, to check the manual. The manual indicates emissions control system, and recommends stoping the car and calling porsche. Sod's law it is a saturday evening, so not an option, so current strategy is park the car up for an hour, and see what happens. Anyone had a similar experience? Any advice? Has anyone come

Sniff the tank filler hole - did you put diesel in by mistake or did they put diesel in their tank?

diesel.....good point , wife did it a couple of years ago. youd notice lots of smoke if this was the case. check your reciept quick sticks.
