Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was going to pop in in to OPC and get it checked but before I do and they either laugh and tell me i need to charge it more often or relieve me of large bundles of money I thought it was worth asking on here to see if anyone has had the same problem....Didnt have it with previous C2 although I did use that one every day...

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I run a 996tt as a second car so it doesnt get used every day, that said when I do take it out she does get a good run. It had a brand new battery fitted in Dec 06 but I still find the battery runs flat about once a month....

Great site by the way and very addictive!!!!
Is the car garaged? If so, I'd strongly recommend a battery conditioner- It'll keep the battery topped up and ready to go.
C tek seems to be the most popular on here, or alternatively, your OPC will sell you a good one too.
Petrolhead, it's a common problem that I aslo suffer from and the only solution is a battery conditioner, if you can.
I end up getting through a battery every year to 6 months.
Note, stay away from Motorsport batteries as my last one last a month
Just drive the bloody car more often
Seriously invest in a CTEK, I've just returned from two weeks in California and GT3 was fine, started first time but my wife's Mini didn't, totally flat, just needed 30 mins on a CTEK for it to start
Agree
I had the same problem with my 2001 996, after a week in the garage battery was totally dead. Problem stems from the tracker and the alarm and imobilisers which are a continual drain on the system and therefore sap the battery life.
I opted for the halfords one, which was £25 and works perfectly, inlcuded the permanent connectors and insulated plug so you can leave it pokeing out next to the battery cover and leave the battery connected while it conditions it.
Since then ive been away for several weeks at a time left it on and its perfect every time i come to use it. only problem is that the alarm will go off no matter what you do!

Might be worth changing battery...
Bosch Silver batteries are widely regarded as excellent replacements which have a longer life than the Porsche OEM ones.
If not Bosch, I have a Varta battery which I can highly recommend.
Am I likely to have problems with my battery..... :?:
Is my daily driver and will be doing a number of longer journeys but also lots of round town stuff.
Didn't think when I posted this there would be so many really helpfull replies... Forgot about the Traker...probably draining more than I thought...was convinced I had a leak somewhere draing battery... Looks like its a battery conditioner for me...!!! Thanks everyone.... Even more impressed with website now!!! Gonna start a new thread now... Sports Exhausts... which one??
OEM on the C4S sounds fantastic, cant agree with you on the TT though....
I'm sure there are some owners out there far more clever than me who can tell me why Porsche cant fit a great sounding sports exhaust to the tt....I also expect there are some out there who think the OEM on the TT sounds fine...I'm not one of them!!! To be honest was considering buying a C4S cause I liked exhaust!!! Then I drove the "bloody hell this is quick TT" and sheer exhilaration won over the exhaust note!!! To be honest 911 Turbo was a dream since I was a school boy.....I guess had to stop dreaming.....Glad I did!!!!
I had the same problem on my C4 cab every time i went on holiday or even washing the car with the doors open and key in the ignition, so i bought a new C-Tek charger/conditioner of ebay i think i payed about £38 brand new battery has been superb ever since if i know i'm not going to be driving it for more than a couple of days just plug it in it takes seconds HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I no longer have to worry about being jump started on tesco forecourt by friends in a golf....
