Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I know this has been mentioned before - but couldn't find the thread. This a.m my local garage was out of V-power so just did a quick splash and dash with the normal un-leaded £10 worth Made no difference to the fuel gauge or the milage 'til you run out value. Now I know from the previous posts this is a feature - but is it a fault? is it something that can be fixed? No other car I have had wasn't able to cope with a small fill-up? seems a bit poor. I am assuming when I put a full tank of V-power in it will return to normal.

POST 2Original post

My old C4S had this 'issue', you needed to put more than 1/2 a tank in to make the needle move once the light had come on. Alternatively a lap of Silverstone helps release the needle too My GT3 registers every drop of fuel.....explain that

POST 3Original post

I think all 911s are like this - my 993 was the same, as is my current 996 - 20 litres seems to be the critical amount (many experiences of the same problem finding V-Power). Thought I was going to be in trouble last night actually - almost missed a flight on Weds and had to park with about 5 miles worth of fuel left according to the range computer. Then saw the frost as I landed back in Manchester and thought 'cold start other end of the long stay car park, de-misting windows before I could see where I was going, queuing by the ticket barrier, arrivals traffic on airport roads - oh *****!!!!' The Gods were with me though, and I made it the 0.3 miles to the BP garage, only to find all the pumps out of Ultimate and only one with unleaded (and a queue): Switched off and prayed that I wouldn't have to push it onto the pump (not cool) and got away with it!

POST 4Original post

I reckon you still enough fuel for another 10 miles....not that I've done that before
