Need to check the level of the Gearbox Mercedes Transmission) Book says two plug take top plug out and see if its at the bottom. Only problem cant see the top plug!! Help please

That's because the 3.4 uses a ZF gearbox. The Mercedes box was introduced with the facelift 3.6. Checking the level is tricky, as you need to do it while ticking over, and before the ATF temperature gets above about 40 degrees C, which it gets to pretty quickly. You really need a Porsche tester to monitor the temperature.
