Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I got 83,000 miles out of my 993 clutch like that, and the Indie that eventually changed it didn't believe it could possibly be the original one (especially as an OPC had told me it needed changing the first time they serviced it at 40,000 miles!)

Suggestion
Normal life for a 911 clutch used primarily on the road would be anything from 30k to about 60k.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When turning the car off I am getting a metallic crunching sound from the rear offside. This noise is not replicated when the clutch is depressed.
Any thoughts?
Took it into the OPC yesterday and they think it may be clutch related. The car is sitting at 47k miles, seems a little early for the clutch to go. Thoughts appreciated.
The OPC will investigate further when she is in for her service next week.
Indeed, I believe mine is also going to have an RMS issue toward the end of the warranty period. It would be rude not to have a new clutch at the same time...
Normal life for a 911 clutch used primarily on the road would be anything from 30k to about 60k. It all depends how you drive though - attempts to do a fast, but smooth, down-changes from high speed by slipping the clutch will wear it out particularly quickly!
I actually have witnessed someone burning out completely a clutch on a new 911, just getting it on to a transporter!
If you want to make it last longer, heel and toe every down-change and don't slip the clutch above about 1500 rpm! I got 83,000 miles out of my 993 clutch like that, and the Indie that eventually changed it didn't believe it could possibly be the original one (especially as an OPC had told me it needed changing the first time they serviced it at 40,000 miles!)
Cheers chaps.
Just hope my OPC is as friendly and spot that the RMS needs replacing.
Can not believe that the clutches are so poor that they only last ~40k miles
I replaced mine at 35k on a TT as it would not hold the peak torque after a remap  .
I don't know how it was driven for the first 30k miles but I do know that the last 5k have been very hard
Clutches
I had my clutch replaced at 34k miles ....
OPC said it was almost through to the rivets, and i saw it, so new they weren't trying it on.. Luckily was getting RMS done at same time so saved some cash on total!
I asked about longevity on them and garage said.. !?!? could be anything.. depends how its used!
Makes sense I guess..
Cheers,
