Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi there and good day!! I was just reading GT magazine and noticing GT3's in races utilizes one wiper systems versus our 2 wiper system. Anyone know if it's available and from who? I think it looks great. Had a one wiper set-up on my BMW 325is and loved it. Regards. Mike

POST 2Original post

Mike, What would the advantage be on a street car?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Amen to Flying Finn's statement. Today(and other days as well) for some reason I wanted to strip my car of all unwanted weight- I must be insane. Maybe in another 5 years I'm going to strip it and make it really track worthy : ). Regards. Mike

POST 6Original post

A single wiper conversion would be cool if it was like the setup on the mb's where you can't see the wiper when the wipers are off. I think that I've seen the cars you are talking about and the wiper is up about a 1/4 of the way. Which in my opinion looks alot like those hoopties I see driving around. Just my two cents.

POST 7Original post

If you're trying to take "ounces" off your car then I guess losing a pound or two of weight is not your problem.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don already lost like 30 lbs. Anymore I be a toothpick : ). Actually if it loses any weight it's a plus but mainly I do like a single wipe system. Is there a reason why GT3 cupcars utilize one wiper systems? Regards. Mike

whats it weigh?

POST 12Original post

I too am fond of the 1 windshield wiper idea, guess that's why I'm fond of my Mercedes CLK320 that has the set up.

Fairly straightforward to mimic what the 996 Cup uses. Depending on where you are, some areas require a minimum wiped area - this is part of the OEM wiper design. The cage welds don't look full and the mounting at the rear of the chassis doesn't look very stout. Also reconsider padding on a street car. With bare metal there is nothing to absorb forces.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
