Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

You have to re-set the reading on the dash computer whereas the the one on the PCM re-sets itself after the key has been out of the ignition for a certain period of time (2 hours I think).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi does anyone know while on a journey the mpg on my pcm screen gives a total different reading to the one on the dash computer. :?:

POST 2Original post

just guessing, but maybe each is calculating from a different start point...?

POST 3Original post

Average mpg on PCM is based on mileage since last reset, as is the one in your instrument display - they are both reset independently as Ade suggested.

POST 4Original post

Yes - Adrien is right. You have to re-set the reading on the dash computer whereas the the one on the PCM re-sets itself after the key has been out of the ignition for a certain period of time (2 hours I think). ~ Maxie
