However if I could get the mileage on the white dial set equal to mine then ok and they would invoice the transplant and this would show just a dial change.

Hi, Following on from my other thread I went to my OPC today to get the white dial instrument clusture installed. I bought off ebay and they were clearly listed as NEW. However they were not and consequently the mileage from my old cluster cannot be uploaded to this cluster. The upload can only be done once on a new clusture. My only option was to have the silver set installed and coded as they work, have the log book stamped with my original mileage and drive around with my new silver cluster commencing at 3,400 miles. I was concerned that this looks dodgy and the OPC tech guy and sales guy said it would certainly have an impact on resale. However if I could get the mileage on the white dial set equal to mine then ok and they would invoice the transplant and this would show just a dial change. Any way any thoughts welcomed. I do know a guy that does this exact thing. He's used by MB, BMW etc etc to put the proper mileage on the clocks when an instrument binnacle is replaced. He's based in Leicester so I don't know how convenient this is? Have you looked at getting someone (or trying yourself) to replace the dial faces?
