On my previous car Mitsubishi Evo I had a remap, decat, air flow upgraded but there were some other minor mods to ensure safe running of the car.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys
I currently have a 911 Carrera 4, 3.4 model, the car has the GT3 Aerokit pack, whats the standard way for performance upgrades? And does it invalidate your Porsche Warranty?
I imagine thigs like decat's and ECU remaps ,do Porsche do this or would I need to go to a third party?
thanks
Carl
Carl. If you PM me your e-mail address, I'll send you a scan of 2 letters I received from PGB's customer services dept. on this subject. It may have to wait until tomorrow as I think it's on my work computer.
Carl there are many options open to you
- exhaust upgrade
- air flow upgrade
- handling upgrade = wheels, tyres, suspension, set up
- ecu remap
The general line is that it wont invalidate your entire warranty, but that part wont be covered
Carl,
You need to decide if yours is a keeper, or if your going to change motors frequently.
Any money spent on upgrades will mostly be 'lost/dead' money
Months before even buying my motor i knew what spec/exterior/interior colours i wanted and how i would upgrade bits.
I've almost constantly kept going with improvements and reached a level, then discovered ideas extra to the plan so added them and still have more thoughts. Be carefull its addictive
So far i've added (in no particular order)
smaller front plate, chin spoiler, -30mm Porsche sports suspension, Le Mans wheels, front braided brake hoses, performance brake pads, switchable PSE, short shifter, Fabspeed induction kit, Revo remap, cup steering wheel, high performance halogen bulbs, RS hard rubber engine mounts, thicker anti roll bars, Brays Krause carbon strut brace, Brays Krause under seat extinguisher braket, larger oval tips, window tints.
can't think of anything else at the mo.
Soon to add, Mk1 GT3 dampers & springs, performance cats & ?
Would love to find some Graphite Grey GT3 seats but not at £2200 plus
So at the moment its come on a little and is going and handling just fine,
but still some room for improvement
Hi Guys
Thanks for your reply's, I'm actually quite suprised it wont invalidate the Porsche warranty, I was expecting everyone to say no leave it alone.
Currently I'm looking for abit more power first, so remap and air flow sounds good to start with.
Is there any recommended tuners in the South East? and roughly what cost and power gains do you achieve from these upgrades?
Do things such as fuel pumps, spark plugs etc need upgrading aswell? On my previous car Mitsubishi Evo I had a remap, decat, air flow upgraded but there were some other minor mods to ensure safe running of the car.
thanks
Carl
