Suggestion

Some just use an air impact wrench, but it's dicey given that one can under or over torque the nut.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Going to be putting H&R lowering springs on my 996tt. I have seen somewhere that guys have used spacers so it won't be too low. Any help finding those spacers would be great. Thanks guys

POST 2Original post

I can't answer your question, but based on my experience installing H&R lowering springs, you will not need need spacers. It's only a 1.25" drop max, which leaves plenty of wheel gap even if you are running 19" wheels.

POST 3Original post

Don’t mean to hijack this thread but out of interest, do you need any special tools to instal the H&R springs?

POST 4Original post

Quotes source post: 10147291

No special tools needed. Other than your typical metric sockets and wrenches, the job requires a ball joint separator and light duty coil spring compressors.

POST 5Original post

Uwon, One more tool that is very useful for many tasks, including shock and strut replacements, is a go-through socket wrench set. HF sells one for a great price. This tool allows you to hold the new shock from spinning while torquing the top shock nuts. Some just use an air impact wrench, but it's dicey given that one can under or over torque the nut.

POST 6Original post

^^^^ Thanks nick. Our local Canadian Tire store lends out those spring compressors and yes, those go-through socket wrenches are already on my list. Johan
