Suggestion

As a general statement, after disconnecting the battery for an extended period, you will get a bunch of P codes in the background.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Needs help with my 2007 Porsche Cayman base model with manual transmission I've recently replaced the engine due to broken timing chain After that, the check engine light came on with DTC U131 U140 Check all electrical connectors that was removed during the process of engine replacement, all looks ok Could it be faulty instrument control module or gateway control module? Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

You probably need to get a OBD diagnostic reader that can get down to the level of the Porsche P codes before you can really figure out what is going on. As a general statement, after disconnecting the battery for an extended period, you will get a bunch of P codes in the background. Many can be cleared and will not come back. The ones that are left will help you understand what is going on. Did the engine start and run?

POST 4Original post

Since you rechecked the connections have you cleared all codes with a Porsche capable scanner? Once a "Check Engine" condition occurs, the pending code and error light must be manually cleared. You also might need to go for a short drive to clear some of the explicit warnings after the battery has been disconnected. I'm not sure but there might be some controller models that need to be recoded after an engine swap.
