The car had all external models, so cosmetic changes but i don't think there were any mods to the engine or anything like that

When i went to Porsche I purchased a new key and they ran into an issue while programming it, they believe that I have no immobilizer or the immobilizer has been bypassed and they could not program the key.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey, I purchased my 911 and it only had 1 key which I had to unlock the car using the physical key. I was told the button on the key was broken. When i went to Porsche I purchased a new key and they ran into an issue while programming it, they believe that I have no immobilizer or the immobilizer has been bypassed and they could not program the key. anyone else had this problem?

POST 2Original post

Ecu's can get tuned to not look for a immobilizer signal. Racers often opt for this feature when tuning their ecu's. Even though being able to start the car is separate to programming the locking/unlocking on the immobilizer, they are still ultimately tied in when trying to program a new keyhead IIRC. Did you buy your car with some mods on it by chance?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The car had all external models, so cosmetic changes but i don't think there were any mods to the engine or anything like that
