Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Or will the garage be able to replace the arms to the same setting as before?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had an advisory note from a recent MOT stating that the lower arm bushes on my car would need replacing in the near future. Having had the OPC assess them at the following service and saying they were worn (very enlightening for an engineer to hear that depth of diagnosis!) I got a quote of circa £552+VAT for replacement of both. The part retails for around £170 ea. I did a bit of Googling and found out that Hartech do reconditioned ones for roughly half the price, and I wondered if anyone has any experience of these. From what I can gather Hartech have a good reputation.

POST 2Original post

Hartech certainly have a good reputation, but no experience of these parts.

POST 3Original post

I'm sure Chris from Center Gravity quoted for a complete set of Powerflex bushes at £250.

POST 4Original post

Sounds like a good plan to me- also he can do you a full proper set up once he's fitted them.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sounds like an interesting option. Presumably these are urethane bushes. How does the ride compare to the standard? The reason I ask is that on some of the B roads around where I live, the 911 is too stiff as standard to really push on.

POST 7Original post

I'd not have thought the bushes would make much difference to the ride compared to the springs/shocks.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will I need a geo check by default when these arms are replaced? Or will the garage be able to replace the arms to the same setting as before? In terms of geo check what is involved, and what should I budget to get it done? Is it best to get it done by an OPC? Sorry for all the questions..............
