Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My pcm turns on but I can’t access radio or CD player, only the temperature and fan control. The trip computer also works. The car has the Bose speakers. I don’t have access to nav, the navigation cds got lost from the previous owner but I don’t need it anyway. It's not a fuse problem since the display works. My dealer is asking $900 just to send the unit to be checked! Can I find a used one? Replace it with a Bluetooth after market unit? Need advice. Thank you.

POST 2Original post

What year is your 996 turbo? Do you have a manual? Post a pic of your system. Did you check your fuses? The temp and fan controls are not connected to the radio/CD/nav in my 2004 turbo. Updated (2015) NAV CDs are available. I bought mine from Annapolis Porsche.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It’s a 2002. I think I have the PCM 1. There are no nav. upgrade for that model. I would like to remove the nav. cd reader and have a tray/box as I have seen on the boxster or models not equipped with the PCM. I will post a picture of my setup. I have the manual and the fuses are good.
