Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

'Your car sounds a lot better now you've had the exhaust repaired" he said.
Leading evidence: 'Repair " he said' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check first tee at the golf club either' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I had just swapped the silencers for the later type which I got from Damian.

and I won't have to check the first tee at the golf club either before I turn the key.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

At the weekend I managed to close the valves on my PSE to run in quiet mode (I don't have a switch and they were fixed open = LOUD)
I can honestly say I have had more fun today in the car on a spirited drive than I have done for a long time. It was like driving in some kind of stealth mode with other road users not being startled as I zipped past them. I just wanted to rev it more and more
(my computer confirms this with a dip in my long-term average fuel consumption !!) I probably acted more like a boy racer than (quote Mrs G) sounding like one.
Yes the PSE was high on the list when I looking for this car but next time, unless it's switchable, I'll not bother.
Mmmm - I've got the opposite problem. Just had my car serviced by OPC and could swear that it's got quieter.
I had just swapped the silencers for the later type which I got from Damian. These came off a 2003 C4S and gave a subtly more sporty sound than the originals which I really liked.
The only thing I can think of is that the new air filter has resulted in less restriction causing the effect.
Any ideas?
If I can't sort it simple, I think I may be looking at an induction kit, or more sporty silencers again!

The switch is great.
I spend alot of time with the valves closed, like you I sometimes prefer the stealth effect, and you can hear the rest of the engine, valvegear etc.
The PSE silencers are noisier than standard, even with the valves shut, which is a nice compromise.
All said though, I still wouldn't want to be without the full monty PSE experience!
I had my first ever comment about my car yesterday from an elderly passing neighbour -
'Your car sounds a lot better now you've had the exhaust repaired" he said.
I'm also feeling rather liberated as well now that I don't have to creep away from my property,
and I won't have to check the first tee at the golf club either before I turn the key.
