This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts ยท 0 unverified posts ยท 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context ยท 0 excluded by outcome qualification ยท 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I had to order one. Now how do I trim hard, thin, brittle, shiney plastic? 4" a off each end?

POST 2Original post

Trim with Dremel cutting wheel, shape with sandpaper (wet), shine it up with Meguiars Plast-X polish. I do it all the time

POST 3Original post

Ok the picture looks like it should fit but I'm guessing not so much. Where was it from.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 602799

It will fit if I can cut it without breaking it.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Accent stripe above to tie into taillights??

POST 7Original post

JB, that rear is looking great. The spoiler add-on is going to look great. Be sure to author a DIY. I think it would look great absent the adition of the acent stripe. Unless... You could fashion a thin and narrow low-level LED strip accross the add-on, to align with the brake lights... maybe so the strip illuminates at the same level as the aftermarket tail lights. PW could help you with that... I mean... it appears you're going big. If there is enough interest you could fab a bunch of those and have Daniel Andrew sell them for $576.94 each.

POST 8Original post

the original pic looks like two black slats - can you paint behind/between the slats body colour?

POST 9Original post

I thought it looked transparent red... If thatโ€™s the case, Iโ€™d backlight the whole thing as a brake or tail light.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 602819

I expected it to be several slats with gray tones in between with the Porsche logo over the slats. Doesn't match the pic or it does and I saw what I wanted to see. I may look into the paint idea.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Its a gamble. The least expensive Porsche lettering on ebay at the time was $85. This was $116. If it works it will be cool looking but it may not. I've got to figure out the transition from molding to spoiler on the ends. ๐Ÿคท

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 602823

Looks good, but the back of the ducktail spoiler needs to be painted black.

POST 13Original post

What happens when the spoiler goes up and down at speed

POST 14Original post

You're on to something...as you said, clean up the ends to match the shape of the spoiler edge and presto. The pics on the new Boxster fool you...the paint is reflecting on the glossy black background. Kinda cool. Always thinking ahead this guy. Well done sir. I can't recall...is that a Joe Toth spoiler?

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 602842

Yes its a Toth spoiler. I haven't given just yet but I don't think this will end up working. Ill probably end up ordering letters and making my own.

POST 16Original post

Many people w/ 718's are annoyed they cannot delete PORSCHE marque designation... On 992s though you can pay $300 additional to have it painted gloss black helping hide... LOL - the age old idiom... one man's trash is another man's treasure. PS - agree looks better w/ out red accent unless you can make lighted and on same plane as taillights. Good luck and keep modding

POST 17Original post

just kidding AWESOME...I would have tried that myself, too, if I had a Toth duck tail spoiler. Not too fond fiddling with spoilers, wanne be "safe" on the Autobahn. I jumped at high speed once...don't want to have an unbalanced spoiler set then JB...you can do it! We know it!

I had the same idea and was searching to see if anyone has done the 718 filler piece.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
