My 15mm spacers came with nice new steel one piece bolts that replaced the slightly corroded OEM ones with the dodgy aluminium floating washer thing.

I know what you mean but I rather shortsightedly replaced my wheel bolts a little while ago!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can I fit some “thin” front wheel spacers to my gen1 without needing longer wheel mounting bolts?

POST 2Original post

Some will say up to 5mm is okay... however when I did this, an independent garage (RPM) recommended I replace them, during a service. Design911 do some good quality aftermarket bolts, which were quite reasonable.

POST 3Original post

My 15mm spacers came with nice new steel one piece bolts that replaced the slightly corroded OEM ones with the dodgy aluminium floating washer thing. Well worth spending the extra to swap those out if yours are like mine.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know what you mean but I rather shortsightedly replaced my wheel bolts a little while ago!

POST 5Original post

Another thing you have to watch with thin spacers on Porsche hubs is to make sure that the spacers are 'hubcentric'. Thin plain spacers that aren't hubcentric will wobble like old boots. Porscheshop have them I believe. +1 for the correct length bolts. Don't skimp here either.

POST 6Original post

Porsche do an OE 5mm spacer and longer bolts, so you know that will be problem free… you just pay a bit more for the privilege as per.

POST 7Original post

Porsche original would always be the best ideas should budget allow. These look good in the aftermarket: Design 911 - hubcentric 5mm spacers

POST 8Original post

I've used this company for both my 997 & 991. I particularly like the anodized finish option, which helps deter ugly rust spots appearing. https://spurverbreiterung.de/en/pro...acers-5mm---12422---5x130---5x130---71-6.html
