Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I fitted the 997 GT2RS gearbox which used a different non assisted clutch slave, I think all the lines were 2k on their own.

I also used 997 lower brake ducts, so have to modify the sway bar too.

Suggestion
The uprights won't change any geometry, so no noticeable benefit.

Suggestion
That changes the car to RWD, but there's a lot more stuff you can do a Turbo's suspension to make it more GT2/GT3 like (think adjustable lower control arms, rosejoints all over the place, solid rear subframe mounts etc etc)

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm new to 911s, and I have my heart set on a 996 Turbo in the next 12 months. From my (admittedly very limited) research, the GT2 is basically a turbo, but RWD.
So, my question is, can you basically swap out the front subframe/hubs/suspension/steering from a 996 C2, and remove the propshaft etc to turn it to RWD, or is there something I am missing?
Thanks in advance.
It's doable, but not simple.

The GT2 suspension will only fit with the uprights, this means you'll need GT sway bars, same in the rear, they pickup on the coilovers. I also used 997 lower brake ducts, so have to modify the sway bar too.
Then your discs will need changing to GT, but you want 6 pots anyway. I fitted PCCB.
There are loads of GT parts like ABS sensors, bearings, screws, droplinks, heat shields are all different, brake ducts.. you also need to reroute the brake lines and obviously the GT lines.
I fitted the 997 GT2RS gearbox which used a different non assisted clutch slave, I think all the lines were 2k on their own.
And don't forget to fit some GT wheels, no point doing half a job.
Sorry, you said C2. No! Part numbers are all different, the problem with these cars you change one bit and it affects 10 others. GT parts are getting rare and pricey now.
After a little more research, and some advice from the FB pages, it seems it's just a case of leaving the CV joints in place in the front hubs (as they have the ABS rings on) and removing the shafts and prop from the front. I wasn't sure if it was going to be that easy, and also easily reversible.

If you just want to change to RWD, that's easily done. Having initially done the front drive shaft conversion by smashing the shaft off, I'd get them machined down or just buy the tension bolts, they're only £50 each, though not sure the bearings will fit. Leaving half a UJ in place will work, it's just a bit of a ***** job.
If you want GT2, that's a different ball game entirely. Though there aren't any rose joints, which have no place on a road car anyway.
If it was me doing it again, I'd look at a 997.2 front diff conversion instead. It's not mechanical and can be run from a DDC controller.
