Cayman
and i came across 101 Projects for your
Boxster
. Does anyone else use this book or can anyone recommend something? The book seems pretty complete.

Hey
@Bitoworld
, that "101 Projects for your Boxster" book is a classic for a reason, even for Cayman owners. What kind of work are you hoping to tackle on your car first? Sharing a few of the projects you have in mind might help people suggest the best manual for your needs
@ForaFrank
thank you for your reply. I just wanted to have a good repair manual for when I needed to do work on the car. I will start with the basics, changing oil, transmission etc. I have a Miata and I have a Haynes manual for that and it has helped me get to know that Miata intimately. I would like to get to that level with this Cayman. Would you also recommend the Bently manuals’ Boxter book? I can’t find a Bently manual for the cayman specifically.
@Bitoworld
That's a very common and logical question. You're correct that there's no Cayman-specific Bentley manual, which has been a minor source of consternation for owners for years. The good news is that the Bentley manual for the corresponding Boxster is absolutely the resource you want. Think of the Boxster and Cayman of the same generation as fraternal twins; they share the vast majority of their mechanical components.
For the work you've described—engine oil, transmission fluid, brakes, suspension—the procedures are identical. The Bentley manual is famously thorough, and you'll find it a significant step up in detail from the Haynes manuals you're used to. The only areas where you'll notice a difference are procedures involving the body or interior, especially anything related to top-side engine access. Even then, the fundamentals are the same, you just might have a slightly different set of panels to remove. It's an excellent investment for getting to know your Cayman on a more intimate level.
I'd suggest investigating AllDataDIY.com - there is a 20% new reg discount.. I generally go for the 2 year plan. It's as close to a factory manual as you'll find. If you're doing anything at all complex in the car - you need the info this source has - torque values in particular. They've simplified and magicated (my word) the wiring diagrams. Not only are they much easier to read and understand, if you click on one circuit - ALL wire paths of that circuit light up, so you know all the modules a particular circuit may be connected to. I went and looked for the discount code - no luck, I must have deleted the email.. but a search will probably turn it up. It as something simple like "fall20" or "fall20%"
Hey I went to the link you included here but it did not work. So far I have the Bently manual for the BOXTER and the 101 projects. All seem like good information. I’ll check that link again but last time it did not work. I would love to see that site. I have done electrical work before and it takes so much time to chase wires. Thanx for the info!!
