Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am considering replacing my bonnet badge. The badge special retaining “ nuts” are quite small and situated behind a panel reinforcement. What is the best way of removing these - just like a conventional nut? TIA

POST 2Original post

yes but i have to say very fiddly to fix a new one - but can be done by me so anyone can do it

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Now got to weigh up buying new or used!

POST 4Original post

You need a 8mm socket or nut spinner, they basically are self tappers

POST 5Original post

It's easy to do, I changed the bonnet badge recently to a retro one like on the new 911 S/T. I also ordered new retaining nuts, and they come with a black rubber (a bit like bluetack) on the back...which is a bit odd.

POST 6Original post

It's only really awkward because of the angle of the bonnet, but easy enough.
