Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anybody know where I might find a replacement rear diagonal strut brace for my 996 C4S? The bolt sheared off the old one when removing - I was just looking to refurbish them. Have tried eBay and some of the online breakers. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Design 911 will order for you 99733108102 not cheap new circa £165 iirc. They're listed individually you have to go to the parts diagram on Suspension and Axle page, OPC might be cheaper. I have seen them on Ebay from time to time but you may have to wait for one to come up. Same part left and right. I put new rubbers 99633138500 on mine when I refurbed them.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was hoping just get a cheap secondhand one that the powders coater can refurbish along with my existing intact one. I may have found one but if anyone does have an old one knocking around I may still be interested. Thanks for those who have replied.

Why not just replace the bolt on your broken one? Take it to a local engineering shop and they will do it for a few quid.

Had not even thought that was an option to be honest but now you mention it, is probably worth investigating! Thanks martin t

POST 8Original post

Glad to be of service, let me know how you get on.

POST 9Original post

For second hand try the usual Porsche breakers, Douglas Valley, 9apart, Status Porsche, Porsche Heaven. All have eBay shops. BTW - an OPC will always be cheaper than D911 for genuine Porsche parts. And watch out for their prices being ex VAT...

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Managed to get the stud drilled out and a new high tensile steel rod inserted for £25. Thanks @martin t for the suggestion. Bonus the chap was round the corner from the powder coating place so all parts with them and should be ready by end of the week. Had a bit of trouble finding correct size ARB bushings (I’ve decided to go with Powerflex). Front I measured at approx 24mm and rear at approx. 21mm but there were other very similar sizes available so not entirely convinced I’ve ordered the correct ones. Car is a 2003 C4S with M030.

I came across this article recently, it might help you with ARs and what bushes are required. eidt to add the 996 version: https://blog.fcpeuro.com/the-definitive-guide-to-porsche-996-suspension

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks @Mac68 . Looks like I ordered the correct front but maybe too large rear. I did measure with digital calipers but rusty ARBs were giving different readings at various points! ROW M030 Sport Suspension Sway Bars: 23.6mm-Front & 19.6mm-Rear

POST 13Original post

I'd trust my own measurements over an article, they could have been swapped etc. Good luck.

Got the old bushes so I’ll not throw them out before the new ones arrive then I can compare
