Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My wheel crests were looking bad. Very cloudy. Took them off and used some wet and dry paper to take off a few layers. Then washed and sprayed some fresh clear lacquer. Results were good. I like that they still show some age instead of brand new. My C2 came with 993 Turbo wheels so these are on centre caps part number 993.361.303.10[/b]

POST 2Original post

Great job :worship: And I agree that keeping a bit of patina about them works well. :thumb:

POST 3Original post

Great job, they have come up really well! Mine were a bit further gone than yours with surface cracking allowing moisture to the emblem. I bought new and looked a bit too bling until they toned down a bit.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys. When I bought the car 2 original crests were missing. At the time (about 8 years ago) I bought 2 replacement '3D' sticker crests/emblems to put in place (attached image) before ordering a new set. I still haven't got round to replacing them and those stickers still look pretty good today. However now I've done the work I'm on the hunt for 2 new second hand crests which I can revive in the same way. Couple on eBay I have my eye on.

This is a long shot given the age of the post - but do you have link or name of the seller for these 3D stickers? thank you

POST 8Original post

Wow, I didn’t realise that is all you needed to do, might give it go on the set that I have that needs refurbishment
