Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Ok, I've been seraching threads for over 1/2 hour now and I've seen references to other discussions but can't find an answer to my questions. I've had an 8500 for a few years now and am happy with it, but I would like to hard wire it. I got a cord from Escort to do so. I'd like an opinon as to wear is deemed best... over the mirror or on the windshield where I have it now. I know it can be hardwired to the fuse box which is what I intend to do. Of course, I want the wire hidden except where it hooks up to the detector. Is this difficult... on a scale from 1-10, e.g., blindfolded is 1; sending to the factory is 10. Again, I know there is stuff about this in the forum, but I can't find it. Rather than give me a load of ****, just direct me to the links. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Here is Ken's article. The 8500 should be the same as the V1. The article section is a good place to check for these howtos. http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=6&cat=5

POST 3Original post

Here are a few articles that should help. http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=6&cat=5 http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=88&cat=5 http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=126&cat=5&limit=recent&date=1161635403 You'll have to scroll down, on the last link, through the laser shifter part of the install to see the installation of the detector. You will see a couple of different options on placement. Also, on the bottom of the last article you will see references to threads discussing installation. Hope this helps, good luck.

Your question is a great advertisement to remind people of the terrific stuff in the articles and files section.

POST 5Original post

Thanks Seamus I am placing my order and I was afraid it would have been me asking the question or doing the research to find the articles.
