After reaching 2600 miles today, I stopped by the shop and had them change the oil. As soon as we took the filter off, we found a 4" strand of silicon wedged in the filter's ridges. . The oil will be sent for analysis and I'm going to take my oil filter apart and closely inspect it when I have a chance. I'll report the findings. Also, leaky exhaust welds are a known issue (at least at that shop). The mechanic advise me not to do anything until the warranty is about to expire, then have them fix it... In any event, I don't regret having taken my car for an oil change a lot sooner than the 10K mile as recommended. Cheap prevention...
