Although the OP doesn't have cup holders, so not much use Looks like this:

Looking for a phone holder for my 2000 C2. Don’t want anything that sticks to dash or fits on air vent slats.
Anyone got any recommendation from personal experience?

Slightly different but when I got my 996 I wanted to mount my iPod. I didn't want to change anything by putting holes in, etc. so I bought a cheap phone holder and butchered it so that I could bolt it on to a flat plate. I then made an L shaped bracket from the back sheet of an old washing machine and sprayed it black. Once the phone holder was bolted to the bracket, I just stuck double sided tape on it and stick it to the centre console in the gap between dash and console. Was perfect, never came loose, pulled off easy once I'd done with it and didn't leave any evidence of any damage.

A couple of people have gone a similar route to Alex, but effectively mated a mount to a "puck" of some kind that then sits tightly in a cup holder - I keep meaning to look back into this as I do loose the airflow through the vent I prefer to use, which can be a pain some times
