Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi everyone new member here, steered to this site from ******** Im in the process of getting a base 997 or Cayman S. Anywho I have a question about the interior engine cover, whats the max weight can it support? Ive seen a cutaway picture that someone posted and doesnt look like it would hold much. Just curious

POST 2Original post

Don't know the exact weight but it is probably a lot more than the objects you can fit back there even if you are transporting lead. It is sturdy enough for everyday use otherwise.

POST 3Original post

The actual cover is aluminium, under the carpet. And unless you are a herculean contortionist you won't be able to lift and reach anything very heavy onto that rear deck. Either from behind the seats or coming in from the trunk, it will be difficult to put anything too heavy back there.

POST 4Original post

What are you planning to put back there and I can probably tell you whether or not it would have any impact to the engine cover foam/carpet piece and as someone else already pointed out, there is an aluminum cover under that which is pretty rigid.

POST 5Original post

Sometimes my dog (a Corgi 40lbs) jumps up on things, when I take him for a ride or to the vet etc.. Just curious if I did get this car, would I have to be aware of that area. Thanks for the repiles everyone.

POST 6Original post

I wouldn't think so. I would guess that it could support at least 150-200 pounds.

POST 7Original post

Yeah I would assume a larger dog than a corgi would be supported(although there isnt a ton of room). Welcome btw.

POST 8Original post

No. The area is very strong. It's metal, like any other car floor.

POST 9Original post

Woof Woof! Welcome 40-pound Corgi! May you have many a fun ride in your new Porsche with your human...what's his name!

POST 10Original post

Thats great to know as I am leaning more toward the cayman Thanks everyone!
