I'm sure this question has been addressed but it's been awhile since I've visited the forum- I would like to change my oil. is it similar to the
Boxster S
?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

David there is a "How to" written by a member in the articles section. You should also think about one of these:

You don't need a $30 oil filter wrench. Use your hands.
My oil change cost $455.19, and yes I did get a $25 oil filter along with a $102 cabin filter!! Oh I almost forgot the $50 wiper blade as in ONE.
Russ
i never took (or will take EVER) my car out in the rain so i guess i'll never need to pay $50 for a wiper
r6,
The funny thing is I never took mine out in the rain either! I was so stunned about the cabin filter I didn't even notice the wiper till I got home. I only had 2k miles on the car when I took it in.
Russ
I still remember when you posted that Russ. I don't plan on bringing it into the dealer for easy stuff after seeing your bill.
I'm too. However I need to find a reliable place to do it. Not wanting to take it to walmart where I get oil change for my honda.
this one might work

Thanks webbie.
I checked the sight but it said:
Brand new cap style OIL FILTER WRENCH - TOOL - SOCKET (76mm 14 flute).
The 76mm is too big and an earlier reply said a 74mm works great. So my search continues...may have to end up getting the $30 Porsche wrench tomorrow.
The Porsche wrench is one you know will work and will last forever. And your search will be over. Easy decision.
buy the cabin filter on-line for $20 or so dollars rather than the $100+. Changing it is easy
STLPCA & Yellowdragon,
Thanks for the info. :thanks: I'll check it out.
I just bought an oil filter wrench 74mm/76mm at Walmart for $3.57.
Can you share with me where I can get the manual that you referenced in the thread? I've been unable to find any repair/maintenance manuals thus far. Thanks
Check with Porschelibrarian ( he has a post in this thread)
