Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just a few words, I recently came across the Lseat covers and spent a fair amount of time looking at fitted pictures and it does not seem that anyone manage to get really tight (oem look) fitting with them.
Leading evidence: 'Install pictures and it does not seem' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check pictures in the reviews' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I used these guys to repair some GTR recaro seats:

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Failed to source a pair of top condition seats to replace mine, so I concluded that I should have to get my originals recovered.
Having requested indicative prices from 3 trimmers ( to ensure affordability ), I have so far had no responses whatsoever. I just don’t understand what I am doing wrong!
Can’t make out whether it is a function of where I live ( SWEngland ) or just a general apathy but all very frustrating as I am stumped as to how to move forward.
You can buy new covers from here.....
https://www.lseat.com/categories/genuine-leather/porsche.html
You can then buy hog rings and the tool for £30 on amazon.
Can you post a photo of the seats?
Can they be refinished? They will look like new as long as the leather it self is not ripped, even then a fibre based filler will sort it out.
They tend to last as long if not longer than most factory finishes too.
Charge is around £4-500 to have two front seats completely refinished by someone who will come to you.
I did post the link to furniture clinic in your other post. Well worth speaking to them.
Forgot you put a pic of the seats in your other thread.
They will come up like new.
Look at the post on m3cutters I linked to to see the results.
This was a 10 year old Range Rover I did with 130k miles on it and they were shagged, all cracked, shiny and looked beyond repair.
I spent an afternoon on them and didn't even take them out of the car to do them.
4 hours and £60 of kit. It took me an hour to tape the black edging on the seats as I wanted to keep that.
Thanks gizlaroc. Someone has had a go at refurbishment before with no very good results, leather is cracking and colour is wrong. In addition some of the foam has been flattened ( perhaps a previous owner was larger than average!).
Will take a look at the covers you suggested, thanks again.
Just a few words, I recently came across the Lseat covers and spent a fair amount of time looking at fitted pictures and it does not seem that anyone manage to get really tight (oem look) fitting with them. Personally I wouldn't be happy with that sort of results but I understand it myight be good enough for many. Check the pictures in the reviews on their website and it will give you an idea. finding someone to retrim them might be best even if it means travelling a fair bit for it.
Just had a look pork chops and concluded those covers are not for me. Apart from anything else I suspect logistics would be a nightmare especially is something went wrong so too much involved to gamble!
Thanks for the heads up.
When you put new seat covers on, you have to steam them once you have them on as tight as possible so they shrink onto the foam.
Then any remaining areas that are not super tight go over with a heat gun.
Looking at the images it doesn't seem anyone has done that.
They all look like they have just been put on without heat.
Don't know if it will help but a few years ago my leather seat in my Mercedes split, I found this guy in Cambridge
DS Thomsett
(website is crap and not indicative) who ended up doing a fantastic job, when I visited his location it was obvious he was an artisan (older chap), a few valuable classic cars being fully retrimmed and lleather everywhere.
When I saw his repair I was very pleased and asked how long it was likely to last .. he said "longer than the car". :thumb:
Price was also very reasonable.
I’ve got a mint pair of 996 seats with the Porsche logo on the headrests.
Only available due to getting a mint set of 997 seats.
They are black if interested
