Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2012 Cayman R with PDK. Most of the time, even in sports mode, the gear changes are very smooth. When starting from cold however the shift from 1st to 2nd produces a slight thump. I assume that the clutches are of the wet multi-plate type and the thump is caused by them dragging slightly from cold. Anyone with a motorbike will be familiar with this symptom. The car has 12k miles on it, and I've only had it for about 6, and as such I'm just slowly getting to know all its foibles. So would the collective PH wisdom say that this is normal, or is it an indication of something expensive starting to go wrong?

POST 2Original post

i also have a cayman 2012 pdk and it sometimes is a bit clonky between 1-2 more so when it is really hot i,e in traffic going slow I actualy put mine in for a check but the computer brought up no problems i think this is just the way they are.
