Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have new tips, and last time used new clamps, new s/s bolts but as they've come off again I don't like how little clamp there is considering how heavy the tips are.

One of mine fell off but I luckily saw it bouncing down the road and thought that I really must replace the cheap clamps that came with my Topgear exhaust that I fitted 3.5 years earlier.

They are too expensive for what they are to replace every other year!

By the time the new quality stainless clamps arrived I’d lost the other one, I only then realised that I had the expensive Tequipment tips and a replacement set were about £700!

Moral of the story is don’t use cheap parts as you may never get around to replacing them in time.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Lost an exhaust tip on Monday but can't find it. I had previously lost one but was lucky enough to find it and then refit with new clamps etc - so this one
may
have been pinched (but probably not) or I've just lost one again in a fairly short amount of time.
Are there any good tips / extra measures / additions for refitting so I don't lose my new ones too? They are too expensive for what they are to replace every other year!

By the time the new quality stainless clamps arrived I’d lost the other one, I only then realised that I had the expensive Tequipment tips and a replacement set were about £700! Luckily I found a used pair in Germany for £100. Moral of the story is don’t use cheap parts as you may never get around to replacing them in time.
I lost one of mine. Looking at exact replacement was something like £400. Instead I just bought some cheap ones from Porscheshop (they're currently out of stock) for £140 and you can't really notice any difference.
They have these in now:

When I got some new Stainless Steel clamps I wasn't happy with the coverage of the clamping face, so I got a welder to exte the amount of coverage by welding a strip round the edge to make a larger clamping area. Make sure you use all Stainless bolts/nuts/washers as it's those corroding that usually cause you losing a tip.
Hey Alex, thanks - this is exactly what I was thinking.
I have new tips, and last time used new clamps, new s/s bolts but as they've come off again I don't like how little clamp there is considering how heavy the tips are. I thought there might be a way of making them bigger and spreading the force.
Alternatively, do they have to come off for anything? Can you blob a few welds on to make them stay?
