Good morning, I've experienced a damage in the dashboard liquid crystal display of 987.1 car. There is a pretty big spot in it, probably due to crystal misalignment, causing the un proper reading of displayed data (see picture). Have you ever had something like this ? if yes, what's the best way to solve it ? changing the piece, or doing something else ? Many thanks Luca

I've read about a few of these types of problems over the years and as I recall, the only solutions are to replace the offending component(s) or in at least one case I recall, the issue just went away on it's own. RSchwerer's advise is good. Try his suggestion. It sometimes fixes things we couldn't even imagine it would fix.

I had the same thing happen to my ‘06 Boxster! It lasted for a couple of seasons and one spring when I got the car out it was gone!

My 2006 Cayman S has a similar problem. Some pixels are stuck on. I bought a new instrument cluster for a Boxster, but never installed it. I was a little awkward about tearing apart the LCDs. Someday I might try.
