I would get the car 111 point inspected then slap a Porsche warranty on it.

Hi All
Following all your v helpful feedback earlier, I am narrowing my search for my first (and probably only) 911 and I think the Anniversary ticks all my boxes
link to one here

Was wondering what people think of this model?
cheers
Ol
mine has "911" on the back. Sadly i don't think it came from the factory with it on there
(nor did i add it)
Very nice car though. You should buy it Kiwi197 (spending others' money is so easy  )
theyre lovely arent they! I love the colour in particular and they have quite a few toys as standard. Im also hoping the relative rarity among 996's might help it hold value....but ive kinda given up on the "which will depreciate the least" philosophy from my earlier posts!
Hadnt seen the 2 on autotrader will check them out now, thanks!
Looking forward to getting involved in the forum and the various "meets" that seem to take place, when I have suitable wheels of course!
cheers
Ol
not really...my original budget was 40K so thats already out the window! And then it would be well, maybe for another 2k on top of that I can get a 997...!
So what Im going to do is tell myself I dont like turbo engines and instead go on about engineering and driving purity a normally aspirated unit brings!
I would probably go for the Anniversary it if I had the opportunity again. I think inadvertently you will be buying a car that holds its value well given 997 prices are close to it already.
Apparently of the 1,963 examples produced, only 150 found their way to the UK. Not sure what that translates into come resale but hopefully it will help it a bit over a standard C2.
Slightly off topic but for a 3-4 year old car with low miles and full Porsche history, is a PPI still recommended?
cheers
Ol
I have actually seen this car when I was inspecting a 997 C2S at DJ Sargent a couple of weeks ago for another client.
Didn't look at it in too much detail but car looked good.
I like the Anniversary and the chrome 911 badge on the back is a nice touch, loads of people go into opc's trying to get them, but if I remember correctly Porsche charged a high price for it to discourage it, so be careful with your polishing mitt!
Have you seen the car at Bramleys? you will get a 12 month warranty and inspection

I actually drove the car at bramleys yesterday. Didnt really get the chance to stretch its legs but its a nice example - although im undecided on whether I like the fixed wing thats been added, and there was no satnav. its also the most expensive of all the anniversaries ive looked at.
I mentioned the PPI and the porsche warranty and they seemed happy for me to do this, and to contribnute to the cost (of the warranty). Are prosche warranties much different form the 12 month dealer warranties places like Bramleys and Cantune etc will offer?
cheers
Ol
Ol, looks like a lovely example. Low miles, OPC history, all the right toys and being an Anniversary I reckon it'll be more sought after in years to come, so hold on to it's ££'s a bit better. 345bhp - yum yum
I would get the car 111 point inspected then slap a Porsche warranty on it. Porsche warranty is definitely the one to go for.
Hope it all works out for you
