Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I am new to the forums and am a new 996 owner. I have a 2000 c2 with 48k miles. I used a local shop for the PPI. I was comfortable with the shop that completed the PPI but I'm looking for additional recommendations. I live in Porland Oregon.

Have you ever thought of doing your own DIY preventative maintenance? Save tons of money. These cars are pretty straight forward to take care of. I am on the way to being 75years of age and started DIY work when I got the car 5 years ago. Start by getting yourself a low profile jack and no turning back.

Contact the Oregon Porsche Club of America. When I owned my '95 993, there was a known issue with the valve guides and oil consumption. As I recall, one of the best mechanics in the US for this issue was in/around Portland. Can't recall the name but I'm certain the Oregon PCA will know. Also I recommend you join up. http://www.oregonpca.org/ Here it is, found it on the 993 forum: Steve Weiner Rennsport Systems Portland Oregon [phone removed]
