Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
The real safety issue is being "one" with the flow of traffic whatever the speed is.
Leading evidence: 'being "one"' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'being "one"' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check speed' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

And luckily, one long off access road (probably a mile long) leads to a great off ramp that just makes the commute home worthwhile if you get it with no traffic.

Suggestion
Don't use it, just use the radar detector alarm for when to check my speed.

Suggestion
Not to mention that the speed limit changes every time you look at a sign, so would force reset constantly.

I think it's my sister's Lexus that has an LED ring around the speedometer that changes from unlit to orange to red when speeds are exceeded.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Mine is set to 50 which is the limit that gets me in trouble on local streets and 79 for my wife which gets her in trouble on interstates. It is set per key.
I don't use it but i do wish the CS had a rev limiter warning like on my former STi. I used to love hearing that thing beep! Much more useful imho. And fun
I suppose the modern theory about electronic gizmos is: "if it can be done, it should be done." But, damn, do people need to be warned that they are at a certain speed? Are there that many people out on the roads who don't know how fast they're going? Not to mention that the speed limit changes every time you look at a sign, so would force reset constantly.
PS to Porcupine: 86MPH on ramp merging into traffic going slower than you seems just a bit "over-enthusiastic."
One man's "over-enthusiastic" is another's "fun." Why do you assume there's other traffic, or if there is, that it's going slower?
Besides, I much prefer to enter highways above the prevailing traffic speed so, if anything, it's I who has to slow down rather than the preoccupied guy on his cell phone in the 6,000 pound SUV behind me in the lane I'm entering.
As for the speed alarm, I've absolutely no use for it.
I've only got three fines on my cars at the moment. First year I was here I had 9!
I know where all the scameras are now in Dubai although I have to be carefull if I go to Al Ain or Abu Dhabi.
set at 75............ just to "remind me" as it's waaaayyyy to easy to be at 90 and not even realize it.
As far as the on / off ramp debate - we have several very long access roads that lead to on-off ramps that beg for a little fun as they are usually very light with traffic. And luckily, one long off access road (probably a mile long) leads to a great off ramp that just makes the commute home worthwhile if you get it with no traffic. 5-4-3 downshit from, well, an enthusiastic speed, and a nice 50+mph 270 degree mildly banked off ramp.
Mine's set at 75 also. I smile when I hear it because I can't believe I'm going that fast. I kind of ignore it from time to time, but it keeps my right leg in a flexed position most of the time. Oregon is ruthless when it comes to tickets above 100mph.
Set at 70, since I am trying to be good.
Last weekend got nearly busted twice for probably being twice the speed limit on country roads, fortunately there were faster dudes in front of me both times and they got the tickets.
I am going to have to save the excitement for I-88 tollway or I-55 on my way home where everyone is doing 80 in a 55.
I was thinking of making a poll on this subject the other day.
I leave mine set at 80. Usually scares the crap out of me when I hear the loud beep at that speed (its the same sound as the "you have no oil pressure" alert). So it does its job for me.
I've got one set at 81, one at 86 and the final one at 90.
I think it's my sister's Lexus that has an LED ring around the speedometer that changes from unlit to orange to red when speeds are exceeded. I think that's a cool feature.
In metro areas like LA, I don't see the point for a speed alarm really. The real safety issue is being "one" with the flow of traffic whatever the speed is. That has ranged from dead stop to even up to 90mph.
Of course, if you have a tendency to "lead" the left lane traffic AND you notice that no one ever seems to pass you AND you noticed that rear view mirror has never been positioned properly... hmmm... maybe not such a bad idea after all.
Limit exceeded
I get a limit exceeded visual and aural alarm when I first put the car in gear and begin moving. I have the speed limit alarm set at 75 mph. How canI turn off this limit exceeded alarm?
Re: Limit exceeded
Left of steering wheel is a control stalk below the lane change. Pressing forward will get you access to the computer for setting up or canceling the speed limit as well as a few other features.
Mine is set to 85 mph. I do not really speed on Freeway but mainly try to go with flow of traffic. On the back roads and scenic routes that we have where I am the only car on the road, the speed limit setting helps to remind me to take it easy.
Greetings Mex 99,
Yes, I do. I currently have it set for seventy-something MPH. This typically ensures that I can catch the existing traffic on the freeways in Southern California. It's unbelievable how fast traffic can flow in So Ca; from a standstill to a faster than a speeding bullet in the blink of an eye. I personally like the system, I think it helps keep your eyes on the road.
My only concern is the tremendous braking system on the
Porsche
when traffic comes to a standstill and the guy behind me in the 1974 Vega is so close that he can see the swirls marks in the
Porsche
's paint. (Okay, I admit, I had a '74 Vega...and there are no swirl marks in the paint...just trying to make a point.)
Not sure what that forgiven speed limit is in Southern California, if traffic is flowing at 75+ it seems no one gets a ticket. It's usually the guy weaving in and out lanes with bursts of speeds exceeding 80 trying to get to work 5 minutes earlier than the rest of us that gets pulled over.
And finally, I've always wondered about that driver in the fast (or 4th lane) lane with NO ONE if front of them driving at 60 MPH...hummm, must be texting someone.
