I have a problem with my cd player in my Bose system.
When i re-start my car after having driven it and listening to cd's, the cd player will not come on. The stereo will indicate on the headunit as "OFF". I can turn off the headunit, but when i turn it back on, it reads "OFF". If i tried switching to the radio, it will not turn on as well.
This has happened twice, does anyone else have this problem?...any ideas??
T.I.A.
hasnt happen to me yet. no idea
I have had a simular trouble a couple of times. I turn the car on and all it says is CD. I turned the power on and off a couple of times, no help. I ejected the CD and hit the FM button, then re-inserted the CD. I believe both times I had hit the TP button and turned the car off. I believe that the processor is getting hosed up. I was going to give another time or two then take it into the dealer. The only reason I ordered the BOSE system, was I wanted to buy the best available from the factory, because I know how much trouble it can be to install aftermarket head units in newer cars. So, far less than pleased with the BOSE. Wish they offered Mark Levingston(Lexus does) which would be more to the liking a true Audiophile. BOSE is mid range at best! Such as the saying goes "No high's, no low's, it must be BOSE!"
Cayman W,
so after pressing the TP button, did the cd player work??...or did you have to re-start your car??
The first time this happened, i was on my way to the gym and i just left it until after my workout. When i finished my workout (1 hr or so) and started my car, voila...it was working.
Y-day, it happened again, but i was on the highway and i was fiddling around with buttons and nothing worked. So i ejected the cd and the radio did not work, so i put the cd back in and low and behold, it worked.
Yes i agree, the ML stereos in the Lexus' are far superior.
From what I remember, I couldn't get anything out of the head unit until I ejected the CD and power cycled the head unit. I have had the sound phase in and out in the past. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong, but replaced my amplifier, because a new version existed. I really think that this BOSE system has processor problems. i.e. sound phasing and CD player locking up. I hope to be able to pin point the trouble and reproduce it for the dealer.
