I just installed the gateway 500 through the MOST connection from the amp.. got it working
where can i tap a power source that doesnt drain the battery?
Thanks!
I tapped the Dension system to my amp's powersource and it worked fine. The wires that connect to the amp pop out by pulling down a plastic piece on its end.. then the brown wire is the ground and the black with red is the positive. They are the thickest wires there.. all i did was stick the tips of the dension power wires into their sockets. it looks pretty clean and i didnt have to cut or use anything except for a wire stripper.
Would love to see some detailed install photos. My dealer won't perform the install (they don't want to get involved in non-OEM electronics) but a local high end car audio system installer (Goodman Radio in Bryn Mawr) has agreed to perform the install when my car arrives. They are familiar with the MOST bus and routinely work on high end vehicles. Call me chicken, but I don't feel experienced or confident enough to attempt this installation on my own.
the install was "easy" but i had to try it many times.. Im the DIY type of guy, i refuse to pay expencive work hours for somehting i can handle myself.. besides i like learning about the car...
ill take some pictures when i get my camara and post it..
how much is the place charging you? this place wanted to charge me 1000 bucks rip off
Don't know how much they will charge me yet though I suspect between $350-$500 as a Porsche dealer in Delaware installed a ******** members unit for just under $400.
Looking forward to your pix.
I ordered a PCM 2.1 and a Dension 500 for my car through the bumper plug's group buy which I had originally been a part of for my last car but decided to go aftermarket instead. Now I have Bose so this is my only easy solution...
My question is... can I put the Dension in behind the headunit when I am swapping and tap into the fiber optic loop there? It doesn't seem like it should be an issue, and the loop can be tapped into at any location, most seem to be doing it in the front boot where the cd changer typically is though. I'd like to just do it in the car and have the aux and ipod cables be in my glove box and take power from a fuse tap.

As you stated you will be fine, most including my self opted for a out of sight install in the front boot area.

Good point, thanks. I will see where the best placement is for my needs.
Non PCM
I have NON PCM, still waiting for my Denison unit.
