This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know there have already been plenty of posts on this subject but i'm confused....!!! :? :? Let me tell you why.... I recently purchased a 996tt from a independant dealer, it came with a 111 inspection (from an official dealer) and porsche warranty. I read alot about not mixing tyre manufacturers front to rear however my car has Pirelli front and Bridgstone rear and apparantly "passed" it's 111 inspection! So before I rush out and buy 2 (or even 4) new boots is it a case of "best practice" not to mix them or can it actually damage the car or affect handling/performance?? Comments would be really appreciated..... Great site by the way..... sure i've said that before....

POST 2Original post

Surprised that passed - as with 4WD you should have the same tread pattern on all 4 wheels - says it in the handbook for my C4, and I assume it will be the same for your TT. Having different tyres front to rear will affect handling on the limit (confuses the stability management system) and could damage the viscous coupling (very expensive!) Is it possible that the indpendent dealer swapped them AFTER the 11 point check? Either way, I would be asking for two new tyres to match them up if I were you!

POST 3Original post

As what wattie has said, very surprised it passed as N rated matching tyres are a requirement. Although having said that mine passed the 111 point check when I bought it, even it was on Toyo R888's
